I prefer those in which some remnant of melody or harmony always remains, but can tolerate the weirdest if there seems to be some intention behind them. I only lose patience when it descends into atonal group cacophony, lost in the woods for ten minutes at a time. Otherwise, I agree with the person above who says you need to hear the dark side in order to emerge into the light. Just maybe not in the kitchen at 7:00 a.m. while making breakfast with the loved ones.

As for Dark Star, per se, I enjoy almost all of them, and merely thinking of the opening notes can change my whole day.
